Celebrate Art! Celebrate Coffee!
MONROE CROSSING
World-class bluegrass entertainers Monroe Crossing are the feature artists for Celebrate Art! Celebrate Coffee! this year. The members will be teaching classes on five band instrruments:
Guitar - Derek Johnson
Mandolin - Matt Thompson
Banjo - David Robinson
Fiddle - Lisa Fuglie
Bass - Mark Anderson
All musicians are invited to participate in these classes which will be held free of charge in classrooms at Bethel Church, 411 Becker Ave SW. All classes begin at 10:00 am. Sept. 15, 2012. Pre-registration is encouraged by contacting the Arts Council office at 320 231-8560 or artscouncil@willmar.k12.mn.us. Participants will work on a common song or two, then form their own bands to play and sing the new songs. The event will end with a public jam session.
Pie and Coffee will again be offered for sale at Bethel Church, 11:00 sm - 3:00 pm. There will also be a display of artwork by Audrey Falk in the atrium.
Willmar Noon Lions Club Belgian Waffle Day at the Community Center goes from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. Tickets $7 in advance, $8 at the door. Children 5 - 12 - $5. Under 5 - free.
